Growing in Norway – Oslo Patentkontor joins AWA
Leading intellectual property firm AWA is pleased to announce its growth in Norway as Oslo Patentkontor joins the AWA Group on March 1, 2022.
Oslo Patentkontor, with over a hundred years in the industry, has roots dating back to 1911 and is one of Norway’s oldest intellectual property firms. With extensive expertise and experience in securing intellectual property protection within Norway and internationally – Oslo Patentkontor is a natural fit for AWA.
Oslo Patentkontor will continue to support its vast client base with its patent, trademark, design and legal services. This will be bolstered by AWA’s extensive on-the-ground offering across Europe and Asia, access to AWA’s domain name services through Dotkeeper and AWA’s Client Portal – providing a complete overview of IP rights and the ability to easily renew online.
On a path to becoming Europe’s next innovation hub, AWA first entered the Norwegian market when our Oslo office launched in August 2020. Oslo Patentkontor joining AWA underpins our commitment to this critical market and places us in the best position to support our international clients and partners with national intellectual property rights, as Norway is not an EU Member State.
Carsten Lous will continue to lead AWA’s Norwegian business when Oslo Patentkontor joins on March 1, 2022. He has extensive experience working in consumer-centric industries with IP strategy, patenting, trademark registration and design protection.
AWA Group CEO Thor Mosaker comments: “I want to extend a warm welcome to everyone at Oslo Patentkontor. With both of our long histories in the intellectual property business, commitment to clients and exceptional quality – Oslo Patentkontor is a natural fit for AWA. Combining our resources creates a strong and unique offering for our clients in Norway.”
“I am excited to grow our Norwegian operations next year when Oslo Patentkontor joins AWA. We will be able to assist their clients in new markets within Europe and in Asia with our offices in Beijing and Hong Kong. Oslo Patentkontor’s clients will have seamless access to one of the best offerings in the market for all of their IP needs,” says Carsten Lous, Business Area Manager – AWA Norway.
“When looking for a partner – AWA was our first choice as Oslo Patentkontor aligns with AWA’s core values. This is a fantastic time for our clients and IP experts as we tap into AWA’s extensive network and service offering,” says Anne Taucher, CEO of Oslo Patentkontor.
