Joanna Applequist is a Partner and a European Patent Attorney. Joanna works in close collaboration with clients and inventors. She is a key account manager and handles IP portfolios of several actors within the fields of ATMPs, vaccine drugs and antibody therapeutics. In addition, Joanna has experience in handling SPC applications.

She holds an M.Sc. in Engineering Biology and received her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Karolinska Institute. Joanna has a particularly deep understanding of developmental biology and neurobiology, including stem cells and cell differentiation, from her time as an academic researcher.

Joanna is also an experienced speaker and provides expert patent analysis and commentary to leading industry publications. She regularly lectures on topics such as Crispr-Cas9 technology, patenting of ATMPs, and FTO and Due Diligence analysis. Joanna is also a board member of AIPPI Sweden.
